Clarity…What
is true of You?
Finding
and fulfilling your purpose is the greatest adventure you can have in
this life. - Rick Joyner
Coming to CLARITY is a process that
begins with discovery. God created us – He is the author of the
purpose of our lives. “For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). “But the Helper, the
Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you
all things, and bring to remembrance all things that I said to you”
(John 14:26). We don’t create our purpose or vision for our lives;
the implication of the verses above is that we discover it!
My intention with clarity is to offer a weekly signpost on our journey
to discover our own purpose and vision. Use this process for yourself, your family,
your business, or church. I suggest the
following steps to help you on your journey:
- Pray! Ask, Seek, Find! Pray for
humility, for an open heart, to hear clearly.
- Pray that God will bring others to
you who can help you in this process. Gather a few people around you
that you feel God will have speak into your life. Ideally, as we
grow, there would be people (parents, teachers, coaches, friends,
etc.) who would speak into our lives and tell us what they see. This
is part of the way we come to know ourselves. You don’t want to go
through this process alone.
- Record what you see and hear and are
receiving through the process. Many times writing or typing it out
helps to see it more clearly and helps to make it plain.
Spend about 15 minutes praying and reflecting on the
information presented. It also may be beneficial to fast a day during the week and spend time seeking God. So let’s commit to
begin, take some time to pray, fast, meditate, write, and find
CLARITY for your life!
WEEK 1
Winging it. This is the way many
people manage their lives. How do I know which activities I
should do or decisions I should make today? What are my priorities?
For many, we tend to wing these decisions, expecting it all to work
out, and then we wonder when it doesn’t. Without some plan and
context to our lives, we will simply react to issues and problems as
they come up. We may tend to use these areas of our life as a place
of faith, saying that we trust God to work it out. Possibly we don’t
know what else to do, so we say “God will work it out.” This is
noble, yet it may not be faith, it might just be wishful thinking.
What if God actually has a context and plan that you could come to
know that would provide real faith, hope, and love in your life? A
plan you could work with Him in daily life instead of guessing or
wishing things will work out.
CONSIDER
Would you say you tend to “wing it”?
If yes, what area(s)?
Do you really have faith that God will
work it out or do you just hope He does because you don’t know what
else to say or do? Could you have faith for God to actually show you
His purpose for your life?
